MALCOLM DOWDING

Malcolm started with NZBTC in 2018 after spending 7 years assisting in the repair of homes damaged in the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake.

Malcolm has an extensive background in building which started in NZ in 1980 after qualifying in the UK. After moving to Christchurch in 1987 he became established as a new home builder, contracting and tendering for architecturally designed houses. After joining the Master Builders Association in 2000 he entered the House of the Year competition, winning a silver medal in 2007, gold medal in 2008 and in 2009 a gold medal, category winner and gold reserve.

With NZBTC he is involved with particular BCAs carrying out site inspections where he puts his vast experience and knowledge to use. Malcolm holds a current competency up to Residential 3 for inspections.
